The Countess of Derby invites you to a two-day conference from the 29th - 30th October 2026 to explore the military, political, and diplomatic legacy of Yorktown and the American Revolution. The program will feature leading scholars from the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, offering fresh perspectives on the alliances that shaped America - and on the enduring importance of international cooperation today. Hosted by The Countess of Derby, direct descendant of British General Lord Cornwallis, this re-examination of the American Revolution takes place at Knowsley Hall - the historic seat of the Earls & Countesses of Derby. In person tickets include a fascinating guided tour of Knowsley Hall.
